Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Injection Pump

How hard is it to remove a pump off of 96 cummins turbo diesel? I am thinking about tackling the job myself?

Gap (Piston Slapper) did it not too long ago on a 95. He'll remember.



I haven't done it YET.

I did mine a couple of years ago & it came off alot easier than it went back on.

You might want to get a Chiltons or something for step by step

It's not bad, it is a little tougher going on... . but not a big deal. If you have a service manual, that would make it easier.

I decided to pull the pump off of my truck today myself and it was not as bad as i thought it would be, it took 1hr and 45min to remove the pump and i did some fine tuning to the pump and about 2hrs to reinstall with a few interuptions, i need a couple of copper sealing washers for the fuel inlet banjo bolt and retime the pump and let it rip again. Oo.
