Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck Cranks but wont start

Ok now that my trans is finally getting rebuilt for the first time, I am wondering about my injectors.

I have 281,000 miles on the truck and I'm sure the injectors are not exactly perfect anymore.

It is completely stock and I promise I am not going to modify it for more horsepower or torque. No bigger turbo's, or boxes.

Except if by changing the old injectors out for new ones ( rebuilt one's ) there is a small improvement I won't object.

My goal and motivation is to preserve not only the truck/engine, but fuel milage. I am convinced I was able to drive 280,000 miles on the original trans by not modifying the truck for more power.

So my questions are:

1. Can anyone recommend a shop in middle Tennessee that can test and or replace the injectors, not only for a fair price but with a quick turn around.

2. Replace them with stock or slightly bigger injectors. (like 275's) for lack of knowledge

275s are the way to go, I ran a set for over 200,000 mi before I started major mods. If you can change a set of spark plugs in a 350 chev. , you can do the change yourself. There are a lot step by step instructions in this forum.
Good Luck Capt Phil

AYE! AYE! CAPTPHIL. I figured I could swap them myself. I just didn't know if I should test the originals first or just replace them with 275's.

Thanks for your input.

Second that CaptPhil... RV275's are the way to go. Even with these old hands it wasn't that tough of a project and you will be very happy with the upgrade.

Based on my own experience of pop-testing my truck's original injectors at around 110,000 miles, I would definitely recommend you change yours now with that many miles on them. My truck has led a pretty easy life other than some travel trailer towing in the last few years, and the original injectors were already leaking (literally ******* fuel from the nozzles tips) prior to popping open. Even after disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, and reassembly, they still leaked from the nozzle tips The pop pressures were all low too.

Now obviously your old worn injectors are still working, but they're probably not performing the way they should anymore.

Drive safe,

John L.

Edit: I forgot to add that I pop-tested my original injectors only out of curiosity and to verify/adjust the pop pressure even though my truck was running great. I was shocked to find the nozzles leaked prior to popping off.
