My friend has a '98 12 valve and has a concern about his #2 cylinder injector. I am not familiar with the 12s so I said I would ask you guys since I didn't know.

On his #2 the injector sits inside a nut. The rubber seal or o-ring between the nut and the injector is leaking. He is wondering if the o-ring is part of the injector, part of the nut, or a seperate piece all together...

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

That is a seal ring to keep water out of the area between the injector and head, the leak is coming from the line most likely..... tighten it!

Dont forget the return line fitting banjo bolt. THe O-ring is just to keep dust, water, etc out of the injector bore, isnt it?

I am having the same issue with my #6 injector. Could someone tell me what to torque the nut to. I called Cummins and they said 122 ft lbs. but that seems awfully high. Seeing as I dont have a manual at hand could someone please check this for me.

Thanks,

Doug
