I recently took my truck in to have some service done at a local diesel shop. Tie rods, ball joints, brakes, transmission replacement.
Good work done. One questionable thing, all of the injector hold down bolts were removed and missing when I got it back. I knew they were there prior because I had recently checked them. I took it back and the owner was dumbfounded, said they had no reason to do that and implied I removed them. I assured him that wasn’t the case. He had one of his techs take it back and install them.
I drove the truck home as I was in a hurry, and checked it later that day and noticed that he reinstalled all of the hold down bolts minus the very last injector line on the back end.
Lazy. No worries, I’ll do it myself. Figured I’d pull one of the other bolts out and take it to O’Reilly’s and grab a comparable replacement. Just to be sure before I headed there, I checked to see if the bolt I pulled out fit in the hole, assuming it would, but it’s too small. Drops right in.
Had some random bolts in my shop but all were the wrong size. I’m kind of confused because on Geno’s it seems all the bolts are the same size.
Does anyone happen to know the size of the bolt? Or is there a possibility that I’m sticking it in the wrong hole? That’s happened to me before.
Also, should I be worried? It smelled kind of fishy, but it’s running fine. Would there be any reason to undo all the lines other than messing with the injectors?
Thanks
