What do the numbers on the injectors mean??

I am not sure about the originals, but the remanned ones I got have markings on the package:

KDAL59P6

TIP-P265

PSI-3500

Are these worth using? Better than factory?

Any suggestions on what would wake the truck up abit?

What (who) is a good source for them??

I can't tell you much... ... . But as I recall, the KDAL59P6 is the number of the injector holder (body). The TIP P265 is probably the number of the nozzle itself, which is hidden by the nozzle retainer so you can't see it when the injector is assembled. The PSI-3500 is the pop pressure of the injectors. That is the pressure at which the needle valve inside the injector pops open and fuel delivery begins.

It sounds like those are simply remaned factory injectors. In which case, if you want more power, you're better off getting a bigger set. Check out www.piersdiesel.com for injectors and other goodies.

If you don't already have a pyrometer, you should definitely get one. Check out this thread for some good advice on modifications. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=71525

THANKS

I do have a EGT gauge and boost gauge.

As much as I like clouds of black smoke, I am not ready to jump to POD's. I will contact Pier's for advise and parts.

Thanks.

On my 1993 w250 was told by serval shops pods were really to much injector for towing etc. I bought a industrial injector from Advanced Diesel Tech. Rated at 42 h. p. and were less expensive then Power Wagon Injectors and almost 1/2 price of PODS. They performed well.

Thanks, again

Once again, the forum has produced some great advise. I have received a response from Piers with a suggestion to use their 185HP injectors and the usual pump tweaks. Sounds like a plan. I am also going ahead and have the intercooler cleaned up and inspected and maybe a little work in the opening up the exhaust and intake to smooth out the restrictions. :D :p
