Well I finally got the pos back together and I'm making oil . I replaced o rings on the injectors and cross over tubes so apparently I did something wrong any helpful hints on the install the book says to put injectors in and torque the the bolts which is what I did

It's real difficult to put the injectors in backwards. Might be that you did not get one or more seated all the way, in which case you may have damaged the cross over tube.

New o-rings on both means a real firm press, or mild tap with a rubber mallet to fully seat...on both.

I'll have to look at your other threads on the matter to see what all you did. IIRC head gasket among others. Should have updated your original thread.

Only other place you can get fuel in the oil is the VP, presuming your head is not cracked, and the injectors are good and seated properly. Even if the cross over tube did not seat, it should be leaking out the jam nut side, not into the oil.

Never mind, you have threads all over the place, and free repeaters.

Please post everything you did with this current project and why, including what you replaced (parts, components, gaskets), removed and re-installed without replacing.

I know you have put a lot of time and money into this, and are likely frustrated as heck right now. We can help, but we need to know everything you have done up to this point.

I just replaced my injectors with RV 275s. When I put the injectors in I put them in put the hold on then finger tight on the bolts. Installed the cross over [with new o ring] and torqued the injector line to the cross over first, then torqued the injector. I did this because so many thread said they had problems when done like you did. Hope you find problem and get her running right.

Here's what I did and yes I have threads scattered all over h*** I'm not use to posting on this site yet and didnt realize the mess I was making . Anyway I pulled the head to do the gasket and found that somebody had the head off before and pitted it right at the gasket line so I had the head resurfaced I then replaced the head with new gasket new head bolts . When I went to put the injectors in I replaced the orings on the body off the injectors with new new ones I oiled the and the bore in the head and yes they were to hard to push in buy hand so instead of taping or driving them I used the hold down which gave just enough leverage that the injector would snap right in with just a little push I then lined up the injector with the hold down and torqued the hold down bolts 8 foot pounds just a little over spec I know next I installed the new orings on the cross over tubes oiled them and they popped right in with just a little thumb pressure I might add that I kept the injectors and cross over tubes separated so they all went back in the injector they came out of I torqued the lines to 27 foot pounds . So this is what I did and how I did it thanks for the help

Just a heads up,the early 98 tubes were not designed to be reused. The injectors should not be torqued down all at once without being sure the tubes are centered in the injector bore for the best mating

Wish I had known that before I started this miserable pita project I just went buy the manual and it oesnt say anything about doing the way you did wish I'd have done it your way .

Called cummins and they said no need to replace cross over tubes I also drained some oil out to just a little bit below full it seems to be coming up slow but going to wait to see if it goes on up to the full line then I don't know what to do to fix the problem . Thinking I will pull all cross over tubes and check to see if tips are messed up then reinstall using a different way than I did last time .

I just installed new injectors into my 2006 5.9, the truck didn't run bad at all with the bad injectors in it. I received these rebuilt injectors and put them in, and now my truck white smokes at start up and at idle. Running really rough. almost seems to have a miss in the motor. I have no clue what to do, need help ASAP!
