Does anyone know a good diesel shop in Detroit Area to get injectors replaced, i have a couple leaking pretty bad now & just dont have the time to do it. looking to replace with rv275s

I think I'd ride my horse before I ever let another shop work on my truck again might take two days to get to work but wouls still be time ahaed . buy the time they charge you twice what they quote you and ten things more are wrong when you get it back than when you took it in it's just not worth it ( thanks moonlight diesel ) anyway no I can't help with a good shop but I think if there's anyway you can make the time I would .

All you need is a cheap set of metric sockets, a cheap set of metric wrenches, a small pry bar, an inch pound torque wrench and 2 hours of your time (harbor freight is your friend), along with the ability to follow directions.

Do a search and you will find several step by step instructions posted here.

If do not have a shop manual might be helpful to take some pictures on how the tubing, spacers and supports are arranged before starting. Fellow that know had the injectors replaced by a dealer and they forgot to install some spacers between the fuel lines and after a few miles after rubbing, one developed a leak. This required replacing the fuel line from the injection pump.

Don't have to remove the spacers, except for # 5&6 (IIRC - it's bolted to the intake). You don't even have to completely remove the injector lines, just disconnect them from the head and hold them out of the way long enough to pop loose the crossover tubes and pull them out about an inch.

Just keep track of what bolt went where and you'll be good to go.

Thanks,
I will take your advice. it can wait till spring when it warms up have to do the work outside- looked it up dont look too bad. acording to my codes they arnt the problem right now (new thread for that)

I was bored so I started to do a write up on injector swap (probably a second one). Not finished yet, likely by tomorrow morning.

I responded to your "code" thread.
