I have looked over the haynes manual and just found the Injector install sheet for 24V on the Tech/FAQ page. The biggest and most glaring difference was the removal/no-removal of the cross-over tubes. The manual says do so-period. The info on the FAQ page said to pry out slightly on the cross over tubes. Which one guys? Don't want to bugger up this part.

Thanks,

Shea

'98. 5's. After that you are the clear.

Even then, some have re-used the '98. 5 without issue, but it's safe to replace them in the '98. 5 year.

Cummins used too soft of a metal in the '98. 5 year and the tubes would distort when torqued up. In later models, the metal was harder and you can reuse the connector tubes multiple times.

On some trucks, these tubes can start to rust (although I don't know how). I would pull them out, clean them off throughly. Re-Oil the gaskets before you push them back in and replace as necessary.

Just my $0. 02 as it only takes a few seconds to get them the whole way out.
