Getting geared up to replace the injectors on a buddies 04. 5. I've read the great install procedure posted on here and it seems to be pretty straightforward. My biggest question/concern is getting access to #5 and especially #6. Is there enough room to get back in there with the appropriate wrenches/pullers without having to lift the cab or anything like that? Seems pretty tight back there. Also, is there a way to turn the engine to TDC without a barring tool? Thought I read somewhere you could turn it somehow off a bolt on the damper. Any other helpful hints will be greatly appreciated.

I have replaced two full sets without any custom tools, would some modified wrenches make the job go faster yes but still do able without. Small pry bar works great to get 5 and 6 started up little pressure not anything forceful. Start with number one and by the time you get to 5 and 6 it will easy.

Thanks, that makes me feel more comfortable about the install. Forgive my ignorance, but can you clarify the generator nut for engine barring? Is that the same as the alternator?

Use the nut on the alternator and go CW. Hold the belt tight to the pulley with one hand to help it get a grip and crank slowly with the ratchet.

there is a lifting bracket on the head by the #6. take it off and see how far you can throw it. i made a plate to keep stuff out of the intake but rags also works. also made a tool

Ok, makes sense to me. Thanks. Just waiting on injectors from DDP so we can start. Should be here any day now. Probably gonna have more questions once we tear into it.
