OK,

I finally got my transmission in and I'm ready to make some power. I'll be getting some 370's here soon and installing them after I get 4K springs. Maybe before if I can't wait, and I probably won't be able to. I've been reading a few old posts and was just wondering if there are any pictoral how-to's around for 12v removal install.

I'm thinking I want to do the lugnut and spacer method, sounds simple and safe. What is the best spacer to use? Material, length, diameter, etc...

Thanks a lot in advance,

-R. J.

I didn't use a spacer. Just a GM lugnut, rolling head prybar (for the front 4) and a regular bar for the last 2. I sprayed the injectors down with PB Blaster the day before I swapped mine, and they popped right out.

Use the thinnest copper sealing washers that is in the injector install kit.

Make sure the engine is cleaned and dry. When you remove the high pressure lines, take them out together. Not indiviually. 2 groups of 3.

Make sure no paint gets down into the fuel injection pump when you take the lines off.

Be careful with the metal fuel return line. Try not to bend it at all.

I just used a prybar on the under side of the fuel nut. Loosen the fuel line on both the injector and the pump. Then slide a bar under the fuel nut on the injector (after having removed all of the other stuff like return line and hold down nut). A little pressure pops the injector ball out of its notch.
