I have a 2006 5.9 I just bought this truck and rebuilt it. The owner before me ran crude oil through the motor for fuel. I changed the pump in the fuel tank and drained all the bad oil in the fuel and finally got it going. After I got it going I noticed it had a rough idle, almost like a lobe idle. I took the injectors out and sent them to Area diesel to get them tested, all the injectors came back bad, I got them rebuilt and received them last night. Just got them put in and now the truck runs worse then before, it white smokes at startup and at idle. Run really rough and the motor has a different sound to it. Would this still be an injector Problem? or is it something else? Ran the codes on the truck and all it shows is a Skim Key code.. Need Help ASAP!

If that is all you changed the injectors are the likely culprit. Rebuilding a CR injector is not the easiest thing to do and make them work correctly. Hence the reason buying new is so highly recommended. Who rebuilt the injectors?

Area diesel rebuilt them. I just did a kill test on them. And injector 3 and 6 seemed bad. I replaced them with other injectors out of a salvage motor and it did the same thing. Still white smokes and runs like ****.

If you swapped known good injectors into 3&6 and they still seem weak, maybe a compression test is in order. Also, have you called your onjector rebuilder and asked for their input?

Unless you can get a known good set of injectors the problem will likely continue. Injectors from a salvage motor are likely no better than questionable remans. The CR injector are MUCH more partucluar about being rebuilt and their environment.
