Clutch job: what am I getting into?

Can you test for injector knock on a test stand ? So heres my situation. I bought a set of 6 refurbished injectors ( yes i know the feeling towards refurbished and remans on the site) but that aside i had an issue with one that installed in # 6. So pulled 6 and swapped it with number #1. Installed a loaner injector into #1 hole after the swap. No more injector knock. Sent the suspect injector back for warranty. Now beeing told it is operating properly and within parameters. So all the i told you so's and thats what you get for beeing a cheap ass aside. Is it possible to have and injector knock, but operate with in " spec " on a test bench ?

Short answer, yes and all the time. The typical testing can in no way simulate the conditions in the engine. With 2-3 um clearances it does not take much to change the operation as the injector heats up. Add to that you have no idea what "spec" was used and how competent the operator was, testing is pretty much a joke on a used\reman\refurb injector.
