On a recent trip from CA to CO in the dark and around "nowhere" NEV the truck started missing under load. Within 1 mile it was missing all the time. By the time I got pulled over and and opened the hood, it was spraying fuel oil everywhere in the engine compartment and running on the ground.

The injector line on #6 was fully disconnected from the pump. The flange nut had backed off. Reconnected and tightened the flange nut [a PITA in the dark with a flashlight and hot engine covered with diesel] and have had no further problem.

Has anyone experience this or am I looking at a Dealer who forgot to retighten the nut after bleeding the lines? I had the CPS replaced and an oil and filter change [no fuel filter change] a week before the trip. Don't understand why they would be messing with the injector lines.

Never heard of a line backing off once installed properly. It's too late now, but it would have been good to have been able to see if there were any score marks on the nut before you tightened it.

Tom Sweeney had the same problem as we were coming home from May Madness. He had over 100000 miles on it at the time, so doubt his was from someone not tightening it up. The year before he also had an injector line break.
