picked up a set of injector nozzles at irp ...

guy at the Dynomite Diesel Performance booth was top notch ...

took the time to show me his nozzles using a tool to magnify and visualize the internals ...

so after some dickering my wife is the proud owner of some stage 2 90 hp nozzles ...

gonna get 'em in asap so i can get the cores back

i saw sag2's injector post ... sweet

i've replaced a bunch 'o injectors ... never done the nozzles though

anyone wanna chime in with some sage advice?

this is gonna be the first project in my new garage Oo.

thanks

I have done them a couple times. They are easy to do. Nothing really to worry about. Most people recommend using a 2x4 to clamp the injector body in a vice, but I never had any luck doing so. Rams-n-Hogs came up with the idea of using a thin 7/8" wrench to hold the body while you take the tips loose.

The wrench was a craftsman wrench and all you do is clamp the wrench in the vice while taking the tip loose.

yup that's what the ddp guy said ...

i'll buy you a barley pop at the next event we're both at if you can tell me how thin to machine the wrench so it'll be thin enough to fit in the injector ...

like to do it before i take off the valve cover so i don't have to stop part way through

how much did you torque the nut on the nozzle to ...

in the previous thread i saw 35 ft/lbs and finger tight then 30 degrees????

3/16" would be beautiful. :D As for the tq, I have done it both ways.

the craftsman wrench is part number 44474 if interested.

oh yeh, I placed something soft under the area I was working at incase the injector falls out of the wrench. That way I don't have to worry about it bouncing onto the floor.
