Well I did it. With lots of help from this forum and others of you and your experiences. My injector pump,vp-44, went out with 89,000 on the odometer. Started with a truck that limpped home and the code of death. I bought a vp-44, fass 95 with kit and an electric fuel pressure gauge. With all the reading of this forum and of course reading the shop manual I started. After a few days of working and getting the trucked primed it started and off I went. I did isolate the sending unit to my firewall with grease gun tube. Didn't lose the key way , thank God. Had a hard time priming the truck. The trick for me was to keep bumping the engine and bleeding throu the filter middle top screw untill no bubbles at all. Then crank engine with throttle down and waaammm it starts. All of the above info thanks to others on this forum. Thanks to all out there and there info. TDR is invaluable.

Thanks, Chris Kf6cmp.

congrats, chris! glad to here yer up an runnin' again! Enjoy and dont forget to pass this experience on for others to learn from.

Wasn't to hard, was it? I did mine a few months ago and couldn't believe how easy it was. Unfortunately, I knocked the key out trying to install the new one and it fell down in the timing cover. Still, it wasn't to hard to tear the front of the engine apart to get it. I learned my lesson though, I superglued the key in the pump the second time I tryed putting it in:)

well doing all three things, the inj pump and fass and fuel gauge was a long install. a lot of details. But over all easy.

Thanks again to all.

Chris
