Ok folks I need an answere. I recently changed out my stock injectors, and replaced them with 275's. Runs great, but when I took the stock injectors out they were all crudy. They had carbon build up on the tip. Some of it was hard and some was soft. I din't think much of it until Ibig44 told me when he changed his, his was clean:eek: I'm concerned. Have any of you, who changed yours, found them with carbon build up or without. And is there anything to be concerned about? Thanks in advanced.

how many miles on the stock injectors? Carbon build up is not unheard of, most carbon will build up away from the nozzles.

Should not be a problem, just thnk about what you are burning.

It's diesel fuel

I changed out mine @ about 34k, They were on the cruddy side & I have run Power Service since day 1. The injector orfices were clean, just a lot of carbon around that area.

Kimrey, my stock injectors looked the same way when they came out for the BD 3's. I only had 3,000 miles on the truck then. My only answer to the fouling was my use of a high idle stick for warm up. Whe the 3's went in a BD 4" ebrake went in also. I put about 5,000 miles on the 3's and when they came out for the 5's, the step 3 injectors were spotless. Draw your own conclusions but I'd just becareful at cold start up/warm ups w/o the exhaust brake.

Wouldn't worry

I just swapped mine for some DD2's:D Ahhhhh!! Mine had carbon over the entire tip and I only have 2100miles. The only thing that comes to mind is WOT:) Get some and clean those injectors. That sounds like a great line to tell the disapproving wife/girlfriend, "I have to drive like this to keep the injectors clean, it's a diesel remember":D :) It would at least be funny the first time. Anyways, I would say let it go and have fun.

Thanks guys. I was begining to be worried. I had 30k on them when I took them out. Bigsaint I now have an idler stick. Loneram, I have a heavy foot ;) I thought maybe that could have been it especially while pulling the 5th wheel. As Ibig44 says, "I'm in a drag race when the light turns green". :D Folks, thanks for the feedback.
