to add a set of DD3's to the set up i have on my '01 do i need the boost module that is part of the package? and if so, why?

*current set-up produces 45 lbs. boost

If not leaving the PM hooked up the EZ will take care of it too. DD3's, PM3 and EZ with a an HY-35 turbo is gonna get HOT!!!

Like they said above, the EZ will take care of it. Speaking in practical terms you need a bigger turbo. I had a very similar set up for a time and with the HY I could not do WOT runs with out getting to 1500+ degrees and tow anyting and I was running hot. I switched my turbo to a Piers HX35-12 and temps are alot better, but I can still get real hot towing my small 2000 lb tralier if I leave the fuel box on. .

yea guys,,i'm leaving the pmx3 and ez hooked up. i was planning on dd2's but knowing i would want more later is leaning me towards the 3's. i guess when i call to order i'll make the decision then. i'm looking for 400 rwhp and then i'm leaving it alone:rolleyes:

another reason i was going for the 3's was that i'm seeing a B1 in the future but not anytime soon.

ok guys,,talk me into something here!! dd2's or 3's??

with the 2's installed the hy35 should be fine,,right??

If you really want the 3's, just leave the TST off and run with the injectors and EZ until you replace the turbo. This may take some self-restraint ;) .

If you leave any kind of box hooked up you should be fine.

I am thinking of a set of DDIII's with a boost fooler and no box to start with and see what I get from just that.

If you have a fueling box with any injectors other than stock it is my opnion that the HY is too small. That little pos is marginal on a stock truck as far as I am concerned... .

I personally would recommend the 3's, i've had them a few weeks and love the truck this:D much more. All around driving is awsome, towing is awsome, mileage has improved, and with the adjustability of the power edge comp they go hand in hand. Plus you gotta love the dyno results, the truck made 401 HP & 851 ft/lbs w/ 275's I thought that was great, but it made 447 HP & 977 ft/lbs with the DD 3's no other changes. Im sure if I had to do it all again I would'nt change a thing, just need a turbo now.

I'm gonna throw the BS flag in a minute

Wayne,

What dyno did those #'s come from? I'm looking for ~400 hp and I figured DD III's and Edge Comp along w/4" exhaust and Bill Kondolay's magic I'd be close... ... ... . But the HY 35 would be my nemisis. Is it because you're at or close to sea level or is the dyno smokin' crack. Maybe I'm smokin' crack... ... . Not sayin' you're not being honest... ... This kind of HP is what I'd like and if this combo you have will do it... ... ... I'll give up the crack and start smokin' my tires... ... ... Oo. Oo.

Thanks Wayne,

Eric
