hi guys ,

could someone please tell me if the installation of 215 injectors in a 180 hp (auto) will result in higher hp with a tst number 6 plate . is there any difference between the the 215 hp motor and the 180 hp motor (except injector size) ie pump pressures etc . would the 370 marine injectors be a better bet . i am in the process of upgrading the transmission with ddt . and i have gauges . if any one has a better next upgrade step i would love to hear it , i have put a cool air intake in . and the exhaust will go to a 4 inch soon . i just need the next step ,and i assume it is the injector upgrade

thanks

Was looking at the Cummins CPL book today at work and the differences that they state between the 2022 and 2023 are the injectors, injection pump an camshaft.

I do not know how much of a horsepower gain you will get with just the injectors, may have to change delivery valves in the injection pump as well. If it was me I would put the 215 pump on it (if you have it) and go from there.

215 injectors on my 160 hp pump got a 20 hp jump even before any pump work. I don't know what the #6 plate well do on top of that.

The first HP bomb I did on my truck was 215 injectors on my 180 pump. They were a very nice mild increase. I was very happy with them. They are worth around 15-20HP on the 180 pump. However, if you are buying new injectors, you can't go wrong with 370's. They are cheaper than the 215's and add more HP :)

I think you are right on track with considering an injector upgrade.

If you are going to do an injector swap, defenitly do the 370's or even 300's. They are much cheaper than buying the 215's and will help out a great deal. But you will need to help them at SOME point (not right away and maybe not for a while) with some new delivery vavles in the pump. As the 'larger' injectors will want more fuel and the valves in the 180hp pump dont put that much to them.

to get 215s alls you have to do is change the tips on your orginal injectors. cost me around $275. I just poked around on TST's website and 370s there are about $400. add in DVs and its another $250.
