i was talking with my boss about how i am going to need to be replacing my injectors soon, and he told me that i could have them rebuilt for cheaper than new. questions are should i have this done, and could i have them bored for increased fuel delivery? thanx

Not much cheaper if you do them yourself, but if you have to pay someone probably not. I rebuilt my stock 160hp injectors a few yrs ago in school and replaced them with the 215hp tips for about $258. If you catch the 370s or similar injectors on sale @ $300 or so then your just about even with the rebuild parts cost + labor.

And really the only difference b/w injectors is the tip numbers they use.

Check on PDR site. I bought new 215/s for about same price as injector shop wanted for rebuild. Did not want to go bigger anyway.

What is the symptoms of needing new injectors I know most people here change them for larger ones for power, but I am happy with the power, mine have over 300k on them.

It was cheaper for me to buy whole 370's than buy the replacement nozzles

Paul, we know that excuse worked for Mrs vssman but we're not so gullible! :-laf

Actually you are right, all kidding aside... plus you still have the stockers just in case, or if you ever, well they make good paperweights. .

What I was experiencing was a stutter when the truck was cold. It was only at lower rpms. But once the truck was warm it wouldnt do it. . Also the mileage had dropped off by nearly 2 miles per gallon.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a set of 370s but I got an email from DonM wanting to know if I wanted a set of EDM Mach 2. 5s. It didnt take a split second for me to decided I wanted them instead...

Dont get me wrong... for the price the 370s are a great buy. .

I was noticing a little rougher idle when cold. Still ran great. With the new ones, idle is a bit smoother and mileage is up a tad.

As far as the Mrs. knows, my injectors "had" to be replaced during the "tune up"... You know; just like spark plugs are replaced in a gasser! :-laf
