I changed the oil today and after starting it up to check for any leaks I noticed a slightly heavier knock in the front of the engine. So I got the IR gun out and the first injector was 35 to 40 degrees cooler than the other 5 as it was idling. Is this considered bad or all most bad. The OEM injectors have almost 150k miles on them.

The last couple of days I thought the engine sounded a little more quiet than normal also as it was going down the road.

Does these two difference in sound make sense for a bad injector?

Did you have the valve cover off? If not, how did you measure the temperature of the injection nozzle? Or are you saying the exhaust manifold temperature at the head was cooler?

Sounds like an injector issue to me, but 30-40 degrees difference isnt alot. Any loss of Power?

Well, I use to be able push a little smoke out but not within the last week or so. I just figured it was cold thicker air during the winter cold months. But the power is still there.

I know what your thinking. It doesn't get cold in Louisiana, but it does. :-laf
