Injector test

My 2003 2500 has barely over 100k and I am having issues with injectors, like many others on here. What a load of crap. I did not buy a Cummins diesel only to have to put this kind of money into it with such low mileage. Mechanics I have dealt with act like they are working on the space shuttle and want to be compensated that way. My local diesel mechanic advised me to sell it - "I drive a gasoline Chevy because of the cheap way those motors are made today. " It seems to me with this problem being so rampant there ought to be a class action suit against Dodge, Cummins, and/or Bosch - the maker of the injectors. If any one knows of one or are an attorney and wants to start one sign me up! I am on my way to the dealer to trade in this P. O. S.

You have no information in your signature. Is your truck bone stock with no mods or does it have some mods? Did you buy it new or used?

You seem to be new to Cummins and their engines... . or just new to this board with 3 posts... or maybe your just one of those guys who have issues with anything he buys... .

I've got several trucks, all of which have over 100K miles... I've never had an injector problem yet my neighbor with a Chev has had 3 sets in the first 75K miles of ownership... he finally sold it for a gas engine... .

I do have extra filters... a 10 micron primary and a 2 micron secondary filter... and I've clogged these with bad fuel...

I had terrible problems with Fords and injectors only to find that the stock filter system didn't take care of the injectors... so the extra filter were added and my issues with the Fords cleared up... .

I keep my trucks for 500K miles... take care of them... know they will break and have the means to repair them if they do... . but common sense maintenance has saved me a lot...

the new ss injectors for our rigs is usposed to last longer if they do i dont know but i sure know

i got mine in the truck 2 night ago. it runs so good (2005 dodge ram 120. 000miles ish)

I just installed a set of DynomiteDiesel stage one 50 hp on my 05 the stock one's had 130,000 on them. If your going to do injectors spend your money on a set of their injectors, they go through them and make sure that what you get is right. The truck has never run better or smoother. And the best part is they were way CHEAPER then the remanufactored ones that Dodge offered. My stock ones had cracked nozzles how I did not damage the engine is just luck. Oh, I should add that I do not run a tunner box or have the rail pressure turned up, And I do have extra filtration.

I have a 2003 dodge 3500 that lost power . I took it directly to the mechanic who diagnosed my problem as front 2 injectors shorted out . replaced the injectors but truck is still not running correctly . took a computer out of another 2003 dodge 3500 and put it in my truck but still no luck plus a new wiring harness 4 the injectors. please help Gully

Hmm. Shorted injectors... . 2 of them at once? Anyone check the wire harness in the Valve cover gasket? I find it strange that you had two injectors shorted and still have a problem after they were replaced.
