When torqueing the injector tubes to 28 ft/lb, how much torque value to I need to subtract for the added length of the crows foot ? I haven't measured it exactly but I estimate about an additional 3/4 in in leverage with the crows foot.

I need to do this correctly as after installing a new VP and RV275s from II, my idle is sometimes slightly erratic. Also, when releasing the clutch without applying throttle the engine will surge (sometimes somewhat violently). The nice fellow I spoke with today from II verified I have the correct pump for my application and said that the tubes being too tight can also cause this. He said that it can cause some fuel to bypass that should be injected. So, I need to get it right this time :)

My 02 is doing the same thing except i have an auto & it will sometimes surge & die when i put it in gear? The shop that installed the RV275's first were telling me my inj pump or lift pump was going out, both have less than 3000 miles on them. They checked for pump codes, (none) & lift pump pressure (good) but they charged me to do that. Am tired of dealing with them, the truck ran perfect when i took it to there shop. I am going to install a glacier fuel inline kit & would really like to fix this myself. Who did you talk to to find out the info on the tubes being too tight?

It was Industrial Injection (where I bought the pump and injectors). I did not write down his name (and my memmory is horrible) but he seemed to be very knowlegable. He also said he had worked for Dodge for 5 years previously and had quite a bit of experience on these trucks. He also told me that the wrong pump (ETC on an ETH) could do some of the same thing. Apparently the programming is a little different between the two.

After loosening mine some, the idle and surge appear to be somewhat better. I need to drive it more before I say for sure because it comes and goes anyway.
