Thats for nozzles only, you'll have to send him your injectors and he'll install them. He told me there were only four sets available, claims they are matched already, pressures and volume. I recieved no reply on a comparison to something already available out there. $225 free shipping, I would also like to hear opinions on these.

Just the nozzle only, right? The "tip"?

How can he claim they are matched, pressure/volume? It's just a nozzle tip. Does he mean size... ... ... ?

My opinion is that he doesn't know what he is talking about and I wouldn't buy them.

Greenleaf is right, with only the tips they cannot be matched other than dimensionally. You would have to have a pump shop set these up for you in your bodies and match the output pressures.

And that might be fine and they may work awsum when they are done.

I only question the wisdom of going with a 9mm body because IF you ever have to change your head because the extra power and heat makes it crack (that's why Cummins changed to 7 mm bores) then you are stuck with these injectors as they won't fit a modern head. So for that reason I thing you should go with a 7mm injector... and the adapters.

That is my one cent worth.

You got it, tips or nozzles. He posted on the DTR, I then PM'd him and asked a few questions. I can't remember if he posted there were only 4 sets or he metioned it in PM. Anyway, I asked about setting them up with matching pressures and volumes and told him I would be concerned about matching a set of 6 from 24. His reply was they are already matched...

Oh yahh, and they are EDM's 9mm with 8 holes @ . 011

JLEONARD your a real thinker. I think that is good advice.

I failed to mention that. Just becareful how you spend your $$. Think about what may come down the line. There is a reason the 9mills are not popular.

I personally, would like to see how they perform. I have a 9 mill head.

8x. 011- you better get some MAJOR air flow improvements going there, along with an intercooler. I think stockers are about 4x. 011 or . 012 (ask bgilbert exactly- he knows all that technical stuff). I know IC stock injectors are 6x . 009.

AS for them being matched, dont they get put in a flow mahcine and measured without being attached to a body? If so, then I'd take his word that they are matched. As far as I know, the only thing a local injection shop would be able to do it set up the pop pressures- half the equation. If they are all flowing within 1liter/min, and set the pop pressure to within 25psi, you should be good to go.

Daniel you're right. . I was thinking matching the pressure not the flow.

But that would be what I meant by dimensionally... meaning all the holes were the same size... that would insure the same flow. Hopefully they would all be at the same angles as well.

HTML:
If they are all flowing within 1liter/min

Now that I read it a second time... if one flowed 2 liters per minute and another flowed 1 liter per minute, they would be within your suggestion, but vasty different. No? That can't be the correct tolerance.

I was not actively searching for injectors, but for $200 bucks I would consider it. So I fished for info, from the seller and better yet from the world of Guru's. That's you guys. Always get a ton of good info here. Thanks!

I don't have the set-up for those EDM's, it would involve opening a can of worms. A money pit of a can of worms. Scott should try them though. The guy has a set of "215"'s for even less than the EDM's though. Those I may be able to make better use of.

What's a reputable fuel injection shop gonna charge to install the tips 'correctly' and shim/set the pop pressure etc? I would factor this into the ebay price. Not much of a resale value on 9mm EDM $$ injectors. At least 7mm edm's will have an after life.

I know a shop that can probably do them for <$20 apiece. They charged me $8 ea for the JLEONARD Frankinjectors to clean and reset them.

Daniel

I would try it myself before I spent money with this guy in town here. Set them with the homemade nozzle tester and corn oil or diesel fuel. As far as cleaning them goes I have been eyeing an ultrasonic jewelry/dental cleaner! I think that will work, I have used them for other items in the past. Can I get an opinion on that?
