I spent most of the day today installing my 16cm housing and PW injectors. This thing moves pretty good now. I think I will tweak on the pump a bit and try to get it a little better down low. It will pull 23 pounds of boost and about 850 degrees. As far as I know the AFC is the only thing thats been adjusted and I put it to max. Any suggestions? Should I turn in the power screw on the back? Perhaps turn the starwheel down a little more, it's only down a half a turn from stock. What do yall think?
You should be safe turning the full power screw in all the way up to the shim. Some have removed the shim and gone further, but that's beyond my comfort level.
Have someone sit in the cab, and with the engine off have them floor the throttle. That way you can see if you're getting full travel, or if you need to tighten up the linkage any. Power Wagon in the past has also mentioned that if you pull up hard on the accelerator pedal that you can get a bit more throttle travel that way.
Also check out your full throttle stop (also seen it referred to as high idle stop). It's the exact opposite of the threaded rod which acts as the idle adjustment, except it's on the fender side of the pump rather then the engine side. If the linkage stops against it when your helper floors the pedal in the cab, you can remove the seals and back it out to get still more throttle travel.
Hopefully others will chime in here with anything I've forgotten.
Mike
edit: Sorry, rereading your message and sig, it appears you probably already know about everything I mentioned. Heh... oh well--it's good to get this stuff reposted from time to time!
Thanks Midnight. I am familiar with the pump adjustments as well as the throttle stop. I got the low down here and from Nascar Mark at Piers! He's awesome! I was just bragging on my install and trying to get some input on what I should try next. I had been reluctant to turn in the fuel screw until I had my guages installed. Thanks!
