How Hars Is It To Dissassemble And Reassemble Injectors If You Just Buy The Nozzles Like Jammers Or The Such And Does Anyone Have Any Pics Of This ????????

They're easy to change. I don't have any pics.

Only problem is you want to get them pop-tested. It's cheap insurance. And since you can't test them yourself, you're better off paying for the assembly/testing.

I can't directly answer your question since I did not switch mine out myself. I was asking the same question about a year ago. One person I asked this question responded that the injectors should be tested and have their pop-off pressures set so that the 6 are close to each other. I ended up getting just the nozzles online and paid $100 or so to have my local diesel shop swap the tips and pop-test & adjust them for me. This route still saved me considerable $ over getting a complete set of injectors.

some say have them pop tested, some say you dont have to. the jammers i have in my truck i bought off a friend and they were pop tested, the 2 or 3 set that we did in his truck before were never tested and were just fine.

as for changing tips, lay everything out in a line of the order it came apart and put it back together in that order, i didnt think there was anything difficult about it, on special tools.

I Plan On Having Them Tested Just Wondered If I Should Already Have Them Together When I Take Them Or Just Let Them Put Them Together. Thanks Adam

The difference between Jammer tips and injectors is $100 through City Diesel. The injectors are already assembled and tested. Unless you can get them pop tested for free why go through the hassle of buying tips?

I Can Get Them Tested For Free But For That Price Ill Just Send Them The Extra Set For Cores Thanks For The Post Nps... ... ... ...

For that price, I agree, get them assembled and tested and be done with it.

If they have to shim them they will take the tip off anyway. I built my Jammer 4's myself and then had them pop tested and got them within a few bar of each other after 4 of the 6 were re-shimmed.

Does City Diesel tell you what they pop tested at? That is the only advantage to having it done by a shop you know. They told me exactly what each injector pop tested at and I knew they were within few bar. Maybe City Diesel gets them even closer.

I am thinking of going back to jammers (stage 5 this time)

Did you ever go back to 5's?

Im thinking about going to 5's NOW:)

As far as the Jammers are concerned, the biggest difference is they offer a lifetime warranty if you buy a complete injector set, no warranty if you buy just the nozzles.

You should ALWAYS check the pop pressures when swapping nozzles. The spring in the body can/will lose some of it's tension with age, and the pintle length can vary from one to another. That's why the shim is in there in the first place... to take up for these slight differences. Be aware that a . 002" shim will change your pop pressures by 5bar, so they are quite sensitive.

With Jammers, shoot for 305-310 bar.

Ok, last week you were not available to play craps with me in Vegas, Since I will be there again for the Nascar race this weekend, Im inviting you to play Craps again with me so you can make a few extra Bux:)

But if you don't wanna go with me I understand...

Living in Vegas, I'm well aware of the fact that those big casinos weren't built by the customers winning money. ;)

I'll be stuck in the bilge of my Scarab this weekend anyway. :)
