Tonight I noticed a slight diesel smell under the hood and noticed the last 4 injector's are damp around the valve cover. I tried to snug them up a little, but could'nt get any of them to tighten up. Is there an o-ring or a gasket that might need to be replaced. They aren't leaking bad, but I don't want them to get worse. Also, I tried to find what block I have, but could'nt find it on the block anywhere. I noticed on the injection pump it say's,engine number and the number is like 560xxxx. Does that tell me my block is 56. Keeping my finguers crossed that's it, I don't want to see that 53. Thank's for any info! :)

Did they just start leaking or did you have to crack the lines to purge air after a run out of fuel? Anyway, when I R & R'd my injectors I tightened one too much and thought I really screwed myself. I got lucky and backed the nut off a bit, then just snugged it. Whew, it stopped leaking. Too tight will cost you big time in replacing lines if you crack them. Give it a shot @ this point you've got nothing to loose.
