Has anyone performed this yet? I'm thinking about going with injectors and a different turbo to have reliable power instead of box power.

I know the initial cost is higher, but for my application I think this is the only bet.

Nothing from me yet... still gauging up for a test of new injectors. Not a priority. See Josh at Dishman Dodge in Spokane WA for more info. He's a good man. George

`04.5 injectors !!!

 Gentelman; how are you going to run larger injectors on a 600 when the stock EGT`s are thru the roof already. my truck see`s 1400-1500* easliy pulling a trailer now and I have to be real carefull even when empty. There is something rotten in Denmark on these 600`s as far as EGT`s. put bigger injectors in "I don`t think so". Everyday driving empty is a challange to keep the egt`s inline. Egt`s go up as fast as the tach. !:--)

Just a question, but...

On a gasser, lean is hot and rich is cooler. Also I think I've read that EDM injectors run cooler,... don't know for sure,. . just askin??

Rich is hot on a diesel and (properly made) EDM injectors do run cooler at the same power level but not that much. More air is what really helps cool things down. Do the 600's cool off any with a boost fooler and an elbow? You'll probably need the fooler to run injectors anyway.

"The 600s do cool off with properly controlled boost. Its just a matter of adding power the correct way. "

OK, SP Diesel, don't keep us hangin, please elaborate, less boost, more boost, what is the answer to these hot little mexican senoritas??????

GWoody,

Without getting into to many specifics since we are not a advertisor on this site yet, its a matter of properly controlling fuel, boost, and timing at the same time.

A lot of the performance manufacturers approach adding power to these trucks by only adding fuel. While yes this does make some power, controlling fuel, boost, and timing at the same time has the potential of making more power with controllable EGTs

To answer your question specifically, increasing the boost level above stock levels does help, but it is not the only answer.

I wouldn't see why you would need to be a paid advertisor here to be able to discuss your solution or contact information so we could see what you have to offer, I mean it's an open forum and I figure my $35 a year gives us all the right to use these forums to learn about these fantastic trucks.

I appologize for being vauge. . but we don't want to start out on the wrong foot with the moderators of this site... feel free to check out our website at www.spdiesel.com for more info about our company and contact info.

We are in the final prototyping and beta testing phase of our R&D process for the Gen 3 trucks. The products will offer fully adjustable power levels from 0 to ??? (we'll keep this part a suprise) They will also allow for the adjustment of timing without adding extra fuel so users can fine tune there trucks for economy.

As our *cough* Ford customers will tell you our products offer Real Performance for Real Savings.

To get the performance out of our products we program them to control not only the fuel and boost maps, but timing as well.

Sorry I thought I mentioned that..... we're looking at the end of the summer for the release... . and yes we are doing testing on 600 engines with real promissing results.

I've got experience with the VA duration and TST boxes and do quite a bit of towing with 12000 lb. so if you need another tester for the 600, let me know, I would be happy to help out. :D :D :D

If you need a 600 that does a lot of hauling let me know. I'm putting 10-15k/month on mine loaded 50-60% of the time.

I need to throw an egt on this thing. I'm wondering if the heat is generated from the size of the turbo (or lack there of) and the friction to force the air through.

Considering my driving style, if I'm seeing the temps you guys are, then it's holding together pretty well.

i'll offer up an 03 with 100k+ on the clock, oil analysis from day 1, under heavy haul conditions.

this sounds promising--i've always beleived that pressure boxes are ok for racing and playing, but not the whole picture for daily heavy haul.

chris

I will offer my 600 for testing as well with 12K miles a month 50% unloaded and 50% loaded 10 to 15K. Currently using a stacked Edge and Volumizer, AFE filter, Autometer guages, magnetec trans pan.

"OK guys, what are EGTs, and why are they so important tks. as you can tell I know very little about this stuff. "

Stephen, EGT = exhaust gas temperature, they can get too high when you add extra fuel to some of these trucks, especially the 600, she is already one hot little mexican senorita!!!!!!!!!!!
