I've been running rv injectors. I also run edge comp, push pump, HX35 16cm, 4 " exaust, a. f. e funnel ram intake, eee tee digital propane injection. And of course I want MORE POWER:D, I was thinking of getting pdr's stage # 3. I was curious if they would affect cold starting- or just too much heat. thanx.

No, you will be fine as long as your not towing really heavy loads.

Make sure you have a good Clutch or transmission setup to handle to extra power those injectors will provide you with.

With everything set on "kill" Yes it will be too much fuel for your turbo for extended use within reasonable tempertures. You'll have to use the COMP to adjust the power, this all of course how often and how much you tow. As Justin said you'll overpower your clutch as well if is stock (surprised its lasted), and be careful with the propane on the ETH motor, headgasket is an easy target.

Thanx for your help guys's. I think I'm going upgrade the clutch to a south bend FE - stock cluch is still holding strong but st # 3 inj will change that I'm sure. After the clutch, in with the stage #3. I'm not to worried about the propane since I can tailor the blend curve to any modification - but will take caution. If heat becomes an issue the PDR HX40-16 may be the answer - I think.

There is NO DOUBT that 3's and a comp will make high EGT, and likely more than even the 40 can handle with everything set to kill. If the 40 can keep the temps down it won't have any left over.

Power of the 3's will keep the comp turned down though, unless playing. Cold starting is good so far, but I have not started below about 25* with them yet. I expect starting to be fine even down to -15.

Howard's right about the heat-BD2s and a DragCOMP are getting hard for my PDR HX40 to keep up to-only on 5x5 and only for long bursts though... ...

I'd be real careful about the propane squeeze..... death to ETH head gaskets :D . Too bad we never hooked up with you 2 weeks ago for our lunch deal-you could have hung with a bunch of cool Albertans, at least 1 cool BC guy and a couple of semi-cool Saskatchewan fellas (what can I say-they are from Saskatchewan! :D :D :D )... .....

If you go with a PDR HX40 and Stage 3's with lets say a Drag Comp, sure your going to be able to hit 1500-1600 as soon as you stomp the throttle, but that will return back down to the 1300-1400 area immediately (pretty safe).

One thing I have realized is that with all this pouring of fuel into the combustion chamber is that temps will not always be in check,

but our 5. 9L's were not designed for 500hp either!

Have fun!

Boydo, your plauing with fire with the propane, and a timing box on an ETH. You may want to lose one or the other, advanced timing already adds cyl pressure, then add propane-kaboom goodbye headgasket. You need an HX40 to keep heat in check if your towing with box on. With 3;s you wont need the box to tow with the injectors alone will give plenty of power.

Cold start will be fine. I had mine last winter and they start just fine to -10° My truck sits outside at home and work (nightshift).

Thanx for the advice. I'm starting to think that maybe Stage # 2 or even 1's may be the best place to start. I'm still going to install thr FE first. I can reduce the propane injection substantially - the system I have can be tailor for any purpose(economy or power) and can be tuned for engines 3. 0 to 9. 0 liter diesel engines. I primarially use the system for economy - injects very little propane. I don't notice much more power at this configuration, but do gain 15-20% in milage. When I change the setting for power I gain 90 whp with no or little increase in egt's - but I realize with bigger injectors the propane can only be used for economy not power. Going with stage # 3 could be just to much- since I want usable power - not melting power. Going with st # 2 or even 1's may be the best place to start. What do you guy's think?

I started with DD1's, and now I have 3's. It is a progression. I have more power now than I could possibly need or use responsibly on the highway, so I am done.
