Injectors......??????

On line DYNO

if a person had dd1s or 6ohp propane kit both being equal, what are the advantages and dis advantages of each?would the power really be the same? Trying to decide which way to go any help would be appreciated. my main use would towing,I'am not concerned about hot roding. I have a 2002 eth. 6sd. gauges,k/n every thing else stock. thanks much Eli.

rodmeyer... I would recommend doing the injectors, and later if you so desire more power a fueling box like an EZ. There are basically 2 different propane systems. . A vapor or liquid. . IMO the liquid is the safest system, probably more expensive. The advantage of injectors only is, you don't have to worry about plumbing, tank placement, tank refilling, monitoring and proper regulation of propane during different times of the year. There are those that say if you use propane, your mileage will increase. . This is true, however, generally if you factor the cost of propane and the cost of D/F on a per gallon basis, there is no suggnificant costs savings for the extra mileage.

Propane systems if used properly, are ok to use in diesel applications, however, most people tend to increase the orfice size for more power and get into trouble with blown head gaskets.

With todays multi- injectors, various aftermarket fueling boxes and fuel settings, for our Dodges, propane systems are best served by the competition ie. , Fords, Duramaxs to try to keep up with us. :D :D

I'm not saying propane is bad or good... I have no idea. But I never did like nitrous either. Its like cheating almost. And what happens when the bottle is empty? The only thing going through my Cummins will be #2 diesel. And if its more power that you want... simply add more diesel!!! Injectors and chips are simply too easy to install to mess with all the plumbing of a propane system. You'll feel good knowing all that power is there as long as there is diesel fuel in the tank. Just my opinion.
