I have 275's in my truck now with a VA, also running about 32 -34 psi of boost at full throttle and loving the pulling power with the fifth-wheel behind it. I seem to have allot more smoke even at full throttle than I would like. I have had more than a couple of people complain when following me that I'm blowing allot of smoke (It will color the camper right side about every 1,000 or so miles) My problem is the towing power is addictive, but I don't need to get busted by some tree-hugger turning me in. I would like some ideas on what could help clean it up a little bit, and still have the power I'm hooked on.

I have almost the same truck as you. I leave the TTPM on level 2 so it only adds fuel when the boost is over 12 psi. This causes only a minor puff of smoke when accelerating under load. After the boost comes up, the smoke clears. Perhaps your VA is fuelling too much at low boost pressures? Also make sure you have no leaks in the air hoses.

I may pull them injectors and try some Mach 1. 5's and see how they do but the box stays for ever, when it comes to towing the camper or a flat bed trailer it is just the ticket for making the ( pretty and rides better trucks so they say ) have to park behind us, BEcause they got there last!!!!!!!!

I have to say, that when switching to the powermax 3, from the EZ, I do not have the smoke problems that I had before. However, the truck seems to run a little bit hotter. I never exceed level 5 on the powermax.

Big A
