Well BIG BLUE has 120,000 miles on her now with stock injectors seems to run fine..... EGT gets a tad warm crossing the Mohave pulling 7,000 lb. 5ver in the summer ... I've been reading the form and have lots of ideas for the EGT problems... . However I was wondering if the injectors need service. . cleaned pressure check or just left alone... . norm

When my 97 hit about 150k, I decided to pull the original injectors & upgrade to a set of 215's. It was running fine when I took them out, I just wanted the bigger ones. After about 20k on them, I decided to pull them & have them tested to see if they might be the source of a slightly rough idle at cold start. They all checked out Ok, spray pattern was good, and they all popped at about the same pressure. I think they might last forever if we just leave them alone. By the way, a lot of places will pop test them for free if you bring them in.

No, the 97's with the auto transmission came as 180 HP, the 5 spd trucks had the 215 HP engine, the injectors are different. That change made made a 22hp difference at the rear wheels on the dyno.
