I have been having a problem with low (to me 20-30 degree) mornings with the truck losing a cylinder and really shuttering. It appears to be the number 2 cylinder but can't be 100% Is this a sign that the injectors are dirty/wearing out? If so is it worth it to have them cleaned or will they constantly give me problems.
If I need to replace injectors I will go the aftermarker route. From another post it sounds like Diesel Dynamics is building the injectors I would like; no smoke and 300hp. Will my auto hold this? transmission was rebuilt under warranty at 75k.

I would go under the hood when it's missing, and feel the exhaust manifold. See which cylinder is cold, or cooler than the rest.
One of those fancy infared thermometers would be handy for this.
How many miles you have on this truck? I guess you could have a clogged injector, but I feel this the exception, rather than the rule. I am by no means an expert, but I just dont think it happens that often.
If one cylinder is colder than the others, I'd probibally be looking at the injectors too I suppose.
Also, you can crack the fuel supply lines when it's missing (beware of very high pressure) and see if youre getting fuel to the offending injector. If youre not getting fuel, look at the inj pump.

Oops forgot my signature.

I did feel the exhaust that is what makes me feel that it is the #2 cylinder but by time pipes get hot all cylinders seem to fire so that is why I am unsure.

Oh I still have the cat on my truck but mileage seems good and I would think any effect the cat would be on all cylinders.

Eric:

With all your transmission "upgrades"
I would say you could easily handle
"Diesel Dynamics" injectors. It looks
like you have a similar set-up to my
auto and I have had the 370's for about
six (6) months now.

You will really notice a BIG difference
in the power!
