I need some help with my new inner axle seal installation on my front axle, guys. Thing is this is not the stock inner axle seal. I am in the process of installing a "free-spin" hub conversion kit on the truck and the driver side inner seal is giving me issues and holding up the entire process. The new set-up I am running will have 35 spline inner axles and the seal is similar to the stock one but it's basically a 2 piece seal with a separate housing that the seal is pressed into unlike the stock original which is one piece. So my question is how do I drive this thing in there? I have tried so many things and no luck in getting the seal housing pressed in. Will a long piece of pipe work and a sledge hammer from the passenger side? Let me know some tricks to this install if anyone has any, I need to get this thing installed to get the ring gear assembly back in and finish the job.
Funny how a little thing like this holds up the entire process... .
Thanks a bunch guys, Joe
