Lye? Another big oil conspiracy

low sulpher fuel

I know no one is sure what year our trucks became bio resistant in relation to fuel parts. I would like to know who is running a truck on high concentration of bio or veggie/blend that is 95 or older. How long have you been doing it and what problems have you discovered in respect to these fuel related parts?I want to make the switch to B100 in my 94 but I am hesitant to do so as this is my everyday driver and occasionally I will drive it 1200 miles or more in a couple of days. So far I have run about 5 tanks that have been B60 or better with no problems. Thanks for your input.

I believe vehicles built after 92 are bio safe. I have been running B100 for almost two years with zero problems. I have upgraded the fuel line form the L. P to the VP44 and plan on relocating the L. P close to the tank soon. So far from the tank to the L. P that factory line is holding up just fine. Not sure what the seals are made of in your inj. pump though. I think there are other members here running B100 with your year model that are problem free as well. The inj. pump is the one I would be concerned about, other than that the fuel lines are easy to change out.

Thanks man,It's the pump seals that worry me the most. I just want to here that someone has been is running a 94 for a couple of years on b100 with no problems to put my mind at ease.

:) I have been running B100 in my 1990 for the last 1000 miles . Added a pressure gauge after the fuel filter. The pressure was around 5psig at the start. When the pressure reached 3psig I changed the filter. It went back up to around 5psig and started down pretty fast. It now reads just above 3 to 3. 5 psig. Was thinking about taking a pressure reading prior to the filter to check the delta p across the filter or if the LP was going bad.

Noticed the paint next to the tank fill neck was getting a little soft in one spot. The 5/16" rubber supply line and the 1/4 " return line still looks good.

Talked to the Gates rep who said that thier 4219G fuel line would work with biodiesel. Only need 30" for the supply and 30" for the return. Costs about 1 to 2 dollars per foot. A friend gave me about 6 feet of each.

Talked to a Bosch rep once and was told the ve pump seals were made of viton (hope what he said is true).

Wife does not like the smell of my exhaust, says it smells like bad fish or burnt oil. At around 70 cents per gallon it smells O. K. to me and the source is about a mile from my house.

I have been runing B20-B25 in my '91 all summer, and B100 in my VW Jetta all summer, all home brewed, no issues other than trying to decide where to spend the extra $450 that I have saved so far... I am making a 40 gallon batch every 3-4 weeks, run 30 gallons through my car and 10 gallons through the truck. Cost per gallon is $0. 75.

The only o rings in the p7100 pump that could be effected are near the delivery valves and I have been running it for a year and a half with no modifications at all and have had no problems.

Been running WVO on and off now for a year with no ill effects. In fact a nice SOP power enhancer. Running about 40/60 cut. And yes have been running it fully modded too.
