Archived Input shaft.. auto trans

took apart my transmission today. . found the input shaft striped at the spline where it meets that gear inside the housing. . is this common?. . how can i fix this so it wont happen again?. .

Billet input shaft DTT or good stock shaft if you need one i have a few.
