So I am leaving the lake this morning, and went to throttle into it in 4th gear, got about 10-20 psi boost, and all of a sudden a big pop, and it loses all power. . all gears, no power... when I came to a stop, it was making crazy noises, pushed in the clutch, put it in first, rolled a few feet, it made some nasty noises, so put it back into neutral, and let off the clutch, now in all gears, engine running, truck stopped, you can go into any gear without pushing in the clutch... I am hoping its a clutch disc that I broke, and not an input shaft... any opinions?

I am going to guess the clutch hub broke. I am not familiar with the southbend clutch hub strength so I might be wrong however I have broken several 12" Chevy clutches in my Cummins powered Ford. When they break they sound like playing cards attached to bicycle spokes.

This would a great time to move up to a 13" street double disk with heavy input shaft. I have no complaints with mine and anyone that has driven my truck thinks I have a factory clutch.

It sounds like you broke the clutch hub or the fingers on the pressure plate but not as likely. If you have an inspection camera you might be able to pull the barring plug and look in there but not sure how much you would be able to see.

Good luck
