Did a search of input shaft with no results so here goes. Just finished pulling transmission on 01 4x4 again. Cant remove torque convertor from transmission. This same thing happened 25k ago. Total trans rebuild with another dtt billet shaft. Truck is moderatly modified stage 3 inj, larger turbo, fueling box always on 1. Last time it happened was running empty entering ramp leading to interstate. This time was empty engine cold just leaving house at slow to moderate speed and when transmission shifted to OD it squeeled and lost all power. Has anybody else had issues with dtt shafts?

I guess there could be a bad batch of input shafts? Call DTT and find out. I guess its not under warranty? Local shop?

My 47RH was built by DTT in house and I hammer it pulling heavy sometimes. So far so good, no issues besides a worn TV cable recently. My input shaft has held up. I figured I would be better off getting the trans built by a pro, so I did the crate trans from DTT and sent my core back using a 4x4 shop in western NC. There was no well known rebuild shop near me at the time, so I did the crate deal. Cost $800 more for freight, but my trans was done by Bill back in 2007, it was good to go straight out on the crate. No issues, great experience, came with the 100K warranty.
