Does anyone have the dash mounted idle adjuster found on some early model 89/90 CTD's? I have seen the parts manual breakdown of this but nothing is offered (as far as I can find out) as a unit. The mechanism mounts onto the bracket on the firewall next to the foot pedal and has a cable that goes to the dash. I assume it has a twist lock cable and lets you raise the idle speed so you can operate some power take-off equipment. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My 89 had it and it worked great!!! worked up to 1400 Rpm. I wish I had it for my 93, it was a full pedal replacement part, but I don't think you can order it anymore. Right now I've installed an electric idle solenoid to have an 1100 high idle for the morning.

It is basically as you describe it. It is mounted on the dash over the go-pedal and it pulls out and twist-locks into place. The cable goes under the dash and hooks to a medal bracket the holds the pedal where you put it. Really slick. Use it all the time. I replaced the cable about a year ago from the dealer. The only other part is the metal piece that goes behind the pedal. Maybe try a junk yard.
