Received my NEW VP44 pump and am going to install it tonight.

It came with a new 27mm nut and washer already on the shaft, and it is tight. How do I get it off since there's no way to lock to pump shaft when it's not on the motor?

I just had mine replaced under warranty so I didn't have to do the install myself. I would give someone like Piers a call.

Put the appropriate sized end wrench on the nut. Holding the wrench with your hand @ the nut... smack the wrench quickly with a small hammer once. That should "impact" it loose without allowing any rotation of the shaft... since your hand is holding it. Thats what I'd do anyway.
