I'm wondering if anyone has installed the factory tow hook package on a Sport model?

I'm curious to know if the front facia on the Sport needs to be cut?

TIA

Fred

The instructions in the factory tow hook kit also come with a template to cut out the notches on the sport bumber. Yes it has to be cut.

A friends' sport truck and my regular truck both have factory tow hooks, and before installing them on his, we looked at every possibility to not have to cut, but no go... it has to be cut.

You guys might also want to consider going to the Dodge (Chopshop) Dealer and get a new sport bumper with the tow hooks already molded in. Then sell your bumper on here or something.

Just a thought.

Ben,

We looked at that angle too... buying the 1500 off-road sport bumper that already has the holes for the tow hooks. It would look much cleaner, but with the high price of the new bumper we would have never made much of that cost back selling off the used bumper. A saw and bottle of touch up paint is far cheaper.

I would point you in the direction of the dealer my mom works at, and see what kind of deal she could get for you, but you guys aren't close to there. :{ You may also want to check a local car salvage yard for the sport bumper, but that may be a hard find though.

I notched my own bumper to put the tow hooks on. I didn't have the template as I bought mine off a wrecked off-road. The backside of the bumper fascia has a outline on it and I used that outline as my guide. Looks fine to me.

Ol Ratlr,

I cut it on the truck with a Roto Zip tool. I could see the lines just fine and the tool followed where I wanted it to go.

guys

i put a front reciever on my new sport for less $ than the tow hooks. i got the draw tight model installed for under $150. i also have a set of factory tow hooks i'm not using off my last truck.

if some one would like them pm me.
