Do a search. I'm sure I've seen this asked before here - I "think" you can but, not sure? I'd "guess" (since it's not my truck - I can afford to do so:-laf ) you can do one at a time making sure you torque the stud, then torque the nut, then re torque all after they are all in. I'm willing to bet that the stud isn't long enough to properly torque it with the head in the way but, I could be wrong???

But, like I said I'd check first, as I can afford to guess since it's your truck - sorry just in a strange mood this am.

All kiddin aside - Definitly do a search first - then ask if others have done what you propose and how they have made out - long term.

Remove 1 head bolt and replace it with head stud. Light coat of oil on the threads and snug the stud in block. place washer and nut on stud and torque then move on to next head bolt. .

Head remains in place...

I just got done replacing mine. although i took my head off.



just remember to put the long studs on the outside of the valve cover by the exhaust. youll have to take off the intake rocker arms on each piston also. i couldnt get the socket and extension by them.
