Well folks,

I installed a 20" x 32" solarized sunroof in my '02 Ram 3500 QC. Took about 4 hours. Measure 20 times cut once. It is really cool and fun to have. I'll post pics this weekend.

Thinkin about installing one in my wife's '03 2500 and in the '09 4500 too.

Looking forward to seeing the pics !!!

I would LOVE to have a sunroof in my 2005 quad cab!!!

What brand, where did you get it, etc. ??

Is it electric or manually opening ??

Sorry about the delay... had to go to Boston on business this week. It a pop-up I found on line for $169. . $192 w/ shipping. It's really cool. I'll have to wait to get back, pull truck out and take the pics. I bought it for my wife for her b'day to go in her 2003 Ram 2500, but she said she changed her mind. It turned out good on mine, but she said she doesn't want a hole cut in her roof. No entirely sure I am going to install one on my 4500.

You can get an electric one installed for about $1,100, but concerned it would leak. The one I installed virtually cannot leak unless you cut the hole a little big.

Here is the link : it is 16 3/4"X 36". Pop-Up Sunroof Kits From The Sunroof Doctor

remember measure 20 times, cut once! :D

BTW, stupid FEDEX looked like they rolled a hand truck over it... had the tread mark on it and box was crushed. I guess frgile in big print means try to break it. No damage though

It looks factory. A lot is in technique. I did not follow instructions by cutting headliner first. I placed template on top of roof, centered it side to side and measured 2 inches back from roof clearance lights, and taped it down. I dropped the dome light, to check to amke sure I would not be cutting any roof support ribs. I pulled the door seal loose at center of sunroof sides to verify no ribs. I then got permanent black marker and marked around template. I removed the template and put wide masking tape on outside of cutting line to prevent scratching roof when cutting. The instructions recommend using electric tin snips, but I decided to use saber saw with fine metal cutting blade. On my 02, I needed to trim the roof console sunglass holder off (none of my sunglasses fit it in anyway. I used a Dremel cutting tool to trim it off. I took a drill with about a half inch bit and drilled on the inside of the line at each corner, halfway and each side and halfway front and back. I started cutting center of side passenger side cutting towards rear and followed black line to center of back and cut from same point towards front and to front center. Repeat on drivers side. The saw cut roof and headliner as one cut. I was conservative so I needed to use a grinder to smooth all edges until sunroof frame would fit. Then I used zinc chromate paint to prevent rustinng, installed sealing calk tape around edge, put frame in, peeled spacer off inside aluminum trim ring, installed thin foam rubber strips inside opening between metal roof and headliner as a spacer. Install inner frame, screw in about 20 screws securing inside frame to outside frame, and install plastic trim hiding screws.

Not too bad. I get back home Thursday and will take/post pics Friday.

Hope this helps.
