Well only after 5 calls to bother the tech and them E-Mailing me a cheat sheet for the 2004. 5 under dash wireing harness the engine shutdown timer is installed. I am impressed with the timer and this is how it operates.

You use a (pot) rotary switch to set the time in this case 1-10 minutes of idle or you can ask for a unit that is set to your standard's then just turn off the engine and the unit times down to what-ever you set the switch to. You can still set the Dodge truck alarm and door locks if you want to. This unit is made in the U. S. and all part's are assembled in the U. S. now if they were only union. The install take's a few hour's and be sure to read the instruction's and get the underdash wire sheet from the tech it help's.

I guess I wont be cooking my turbo since I have the unit set for 6 min and the temp is 300 deg at shut down and that's here in L. A. :-laf

Did you look at cool-downtimer.com? That one only has three conections in the fuse box and is adjustable for 2,4 or 6 minutes run time. I also use mine to keep the truck cool or warm when running into a store for a few minutes!

I've also got SP's EST and it's completely adustable 0-10minutes (not only three or four set times) is great. Set the time where you want it and the truck automatically keeps the engine running for that amount of time automatically everytime you shutdown, without the need to arm the timer like other products. When I installed the timer, it did not take long at all, just a few wires to find and I was done.

I researched a bit when I was looking for a timer to buy and decided to go with SP's instead of Cool-downtimer.com's for a couple reasons. With Cool-downtimer.com's you have to arm the timer every time you get out of the truck, that has got to be a pain. I'd much rather set it and forget it. SP's also has a brake pedal kill feature that kills the truck if a prospective thief were to try and steal your truck.

I also installed the optional park light indicater which keeps the parking lights on when the truck is running without the keys in the ignition. This makes it real easy to glance out the window and tell if the truck is still running or not.

Glad to hear your happy with the EST, how many people have given you that  look so far when you walk away from your truck and its still running? :-laf
