installed the cannon today very easy install, hats off to Mr. Bob.

anyway i also noticied that i pick up 1lb of boost went from 30 to 31.

and make a lot of noise but it is well worth it in my view. I like the turbo whistle.

Has anyone run a K&N in a stock box with the silencer ring out? Is the AFE louder. I assume they flow better. Are you running a prefilter? just trying to justify the cost.

Yes, the AFE is quite a bit louder than the K&N - even in a stock airbox that looks like swiss cheese. No pre-filter. A lot of the whistle went away, though, with the installation of a 16cm turbine housing.

If I had to guess I would say the afe is about 2 to 3 times louder than the K&N in stock box even with a prefilter/outerwear. The first day I was so depressed about the noise, by the third day I was used to it and I don't even hear it now, hard to over exhaust noise but that is me. If your sensitive to noise this may not be the route you want to take.

Thanks guys, I am sold on this one. Louder is always better when it comes to my truck. I understand some people prefer things quieter than others, but I like it loud. I have run the stock filter, a K&N and a BHAF (Napa 2790) all with the silencer ring out and the snorkel pulled on the box filters. Still haven't found what I want yet, maybe aFe is it.

Shop around. Bought mine direct from company last year. Great service on their part, but way over priced. E Bay has them all the time. Much better price... . (Type in dodge diesel)... . Good luck.

I installed mine today and it is LOUD. I wasn't expectecting that. I put a paper BHAF on it and it quieted it down about 30%.
