It took me about 4 hours to install this morning. My new turbo won't be here until late next week but my first impressions of it was that it's a tire smoking monster truck! The smoke is not as bad as I thought it would be and I'm sure that it will clear up with the new turbo. My egts with the with the new injectors are about 100 degrees hotter . I will post better numbers when I get the turbo installed next week.

How do you safely bleed off the high pressure in the rail before installing new injectors? Do you just let the truck sit overnight to let the pressure bleed off naturally? Or is there a special fitting? TIA

No need to let it sit for an extended period.

The pressure will bleed off in seconds without even opening the rail.

Beware though: High Pressure Common Rail systems can be dangerous and cause death or serious injury. Use caution and care when opening fuel system.

Also never open fuel system while engine is running. (my disclaimer!)

I let the truck sit over night because I had to basically sit on top of the engine for 4 hours to install the injectors.

I have a question for anyone that has these type of injectors in their third generation truck-

With my Egde sitting on level 1(just for boost fooling) at a speed of 40 mph I've got about 3-4 pounds of boost and the truck feels like it's loading up for lack of better words. If you give it more throttle and the boost gets over 10 lbs everything clears up and it's smooth again. It idles just like stock and if you have your foot in it it's smooth and strong. Is this normal for this type or size injector?

Thanks for your help -John
