I put the comp on a few days ago. Immediately after install the water in fuel light came on. I check the connection going to the filter and it is plugged in and making a good connection. I then followed the wires into a harness that runs behind the motor. I then drained the fuel filter. I just drained it to waste so I not sure if there was any water in it or not. But I doubt there was I get gas the same place all the time. I always fill up the tank and it is at 1/2 now. After draining the filter I could not get gas back into the system. So I changed the Lift Pump. While in there I pulled the filter canister and cleaned it all out, cleaned the sensor and changed the filter as well. The new pump primed the system in one 25 second cycle and the truck started right up. Water in fuel light is still on and wont go away.
Seems odd the sensor would go bad at the same time I installed the Comp. Is there another connection I may have knocked loose or a fuse I could of blown somewhere? While I had the canister out it did not look like that sensor would be easy to get out. How does it come out?
Thanks Rob
