I had an edge EZ before ( really a superchips DBOX ) but got rid of it for a good deal from Edge for a comp ($350). I got a Comp back in Feb. and just got around to putting it on after i got the fuel pump problem cured - FASS and a new VP from the dealer under warranty. I followed instructions almost to the a T. Everything was hooked up except i forgot to plug the engine wiring harness into the supplied MAP sensor - i jumped the gun. The truck was started without the 2 connected and the enging light was on. P 1693. After finding out i did not have them connected, i kick myself a few times and plugged them in - after i disconnected the batteries again. Truck started fine and took it for a spin. It was a dog! It was half the acceleration of stock. I redouble checked everything and am clueless. I know it it hooked up right now. The LED lights are not consistant too. One time i will have just one light, and the next all of them are on. I just want to us it as an EZ until i get a trans. upgrade. I guess i should have kept the DBOX. Any help would be greatful. Also, what and when should the boost elbow be put in?

Sounds like you have a bad comp box. If the lights don't light up correctly that is usually the problem. I had one go bad that same way and it did not make all the power it was supposed to.

You could also be in limp mode from starting the truck with out the MAP. Check your codes again.

another question?

Do i need to have the boost elbow in for the truck to run correctly with the comp hooked up as an EZ?? My DBOX did not have it and figured the comp as an EZ would not need it too.

yes it is an auto trans. i am about to go out and go over everthing for a 3rd time. Could something have got messed up from not having the the stock boost sensor not hooked up to the edge MAP sensor when i first started the truck?

I'm betting you set a code that put your truck in limp mode and it will take clearing your codes to get your power back. These trucks were made to protect themselves on part failures like a bad MAP, but in your case not having it hooked up when you started the truck. Run by an Auto Zone and ask them to check and clear codes or pay the dealer to do it or possibly another TDR member who has a code eraser in your area. I hope this helps you restore any lost faith in our wonderful trucks. Chris
