installed some dd III's yesterday and i've got some questions. i've got an h. o. and a drag comp with the stock hx 35. i'm seeing alot of smoke, but my temps are in check. i've heard alot of guys talk and figured i wouldn't be able to run my truck hard until i got an hx-40. any way at cruising speeds of 70 and 75 i'm turning about 700 degrees. when i get on it real hard i get to 1300-1350 and about 3# of fuel pressure. i also am turning about 42# of boost. i'm just wondering what is different from my truck to another. just wanted some insight. thanks!

Sounds like the correct temp for post turbo pyro installation. Do you have your thermocouple pre turbo or post?

I think your correct in thinking the temps are suspect. Especially on a ETH.

When you say you got on it real hard, does that mean the comp is on 5&5?

If so, I'd be thinking your egt should be around 1550*.

3 psi of fuel pressure isn't very impressive. Your smart to have a fuel pressure gauge in the cab;)

I ran my DDIII's with the stock turbo for quite a while, before upgrading to larger charger. I didn't have any complaints with the stock turbo, it only got TO HOT, when really hammering, i. e. drag strip, and sled pulling, but wasn't to concerned, I was out of the throttle in less than 30 seconds. I also towed almost every day, without issue.

Your fuel pressure is low though, you may want to add a pusher pump, or another pump all together, IMO.

Bring the boost DOWN to about 35 PSI. You are not gaining anything by going above 35 with the stock turbo.

Your EGT are WAY low for the combo you have if it they are taken pre-turbo. That is about the EGT you should see with just an EZ. Might be that the pump wire is disconnected?
