Well folks, it's been two weeks since a DTT VB and TC
were installed in my truck and all I can say is "WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO DO THIS" !!! The truck now acts like an auto trans SHOULD act!! Crisp clean upshifts and downshifts where I want them, NOT where some "transmission weenie" THOUGHT they should be. .
(as a side note, I took out a Pro-torque TC and BD VB.
The Pro-torque was a pretty good TC but the BD VB was junk!!)
Bill K. really listened (a baseball bat helped He,He) to what I wanted to accomplish and set up the VB accordingly. We did have to go back in to the VB and change a few springs, but that's no fault of the VB, just my pickyness. And Bill K. didn't bat an eye about sending the new springs right out and ORDERED us to call him (on his cell phone) when we got the VB apart so he could talk us through how he wanted it set. . Is that servicve or what!!!???
Rick S. at Daves Diesel (in Angola, IN. ) had his transmission guru (Jack) do the installation and these guys were GREAT! Jack is a master with transmissions, especially chryslers and he made the job a breeze. R&R TC, VB and install upgrade kit in under 5 hours.
A word of warning though. If your tall, (over 6') you don't want to be trying to work under a lift with these two. Their both vertically challenged (short) so the lift was kept at their level. About the only words out of my mouth were "ouch", "@&*#%" and "who put this #%@^$* lift so low"!!
My performance figures at the drag strip (over two nights) averaged out to a solid 2 tenths faster , the shifts are unbelievable and launching is neck snaping!! Now that I know my trans. will hold together, looks like a new turbo will be in order... . YeeeHaaaaa... .....
Rick S. & Jack from Dave's Diesel and Bill K. of DTT are a GREAT bunch of guys to work with and I'd highly recommend them and their products to everyone!! THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!!
