The Brakesmart is basically plug and play. Installation was a snap. Finding the blue connector was harder than the install. The jokers at the factory not only hide the connector, they tape it in a way that makes it hard to get loose. The gauges were another story, I installed a BD X Monitor. Since I want to monitor cooldown I installed the pyro post turbo. To do a nice job of drilling and tapping I removed the cast elbow from the rear of the turbo. That was easy but putting it back was a real challenge, it has two tiny pins that need to match up and not a lot of space to work. I did get it all together again though. On the '05 they take the transmission temperature from the ECM since there is a thermistor in the transmission. To do that a tap has to be installed on wire 29 on plug C2. Boost is from a boost bolt in the manifold. After the install you have to program the gauge and set in all your limits for alarms. Not hard but the manual has some really fine print. I spent most of my time routing wires and using cable ties in places where your hands don't quite fit. When I tried it out the transmission temperature started out at 62 degrees which was about the temperature in my garage. Lot of stop and go driving got it up to a little over 160 degrees. Pyro ran around 450 although I got it up to around 650 with a little aggressive driving. Boost ran around 8-10 and went to a max of 31. 5 with harder driving. These numbers all seem about normal based on my other truck with gauges although the pyro did seem a little warmer than my '96 which is to be expected. :D
